Islomov Odilxon Rustamovich ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") built MoreThanScan ("App") as
an ad-supported and in-app-purchase-supported Android application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect,
use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. Please read this policy carefully. By using
the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We categorize the information associated with the App into the following types:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Google Account InformationOptional — If you choose to sign in with Google to use cloud backup features, we receive your Google account email address through the Google Sign-In API.
Scanned Documents — Images, PDFs, and text extracted from documents you scan using the App.
User-Created Content — QR codes, barcodes, document annotations, signatures, and exported files you create within the App.
Feedback Emails — If you contact us via email, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Analytics Data — We use Firebase Analytics to collect usage data such as feature usage events (e.g., scans completed, exports performed, filters applied), screen views, and app interactions. This data is collected in an aggregated, anonymized form.
Crash Reports — We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs, stack traces, and device state information when the App encounters an error. Crashlytics is disabled in debug builds and only active in production releases.
Advertising Data — Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to serve and measure advertisements. See Section 4: Advertising for details.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address.
We do not collect precise or coarse location data.
We do not access or read your contacts.
We do not record audio or access your microphone.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information:
You can remove all advertisements by purchasing the Pro upgrade (one-time in-app purchase).
Once the Pro upgrade is purchased, no ad-related data will be collected by AdMob.
4.3 Ad Personalization
You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings:
Go to Settings > Google > Ads on your Android device.
Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (or "Delete advertising ID" on Android 12+).
5. Google Sign-In & Google Drive
5.1 Google Sign-In
The App offers optional Google Sign-In to enable cloud backup features. When you sign in, we request
access to the following:
Email address — Used solely to identify your account within the App and display it in settings.
Google Drive file scope (drive.file) — A restricted scope that limits our access to only files created by the App. We cannot access any other files in your Google Drive.
Important: We use the most restrictive Google Drive scope available (drive.file).
The App can only read, write, and manage files that it has created in a dedicated "MoreThanScan" folder within
your Google Drive. We have no access to your other Drive files, folders, or shared drives.
5.2 Google Drive Usage
If you enable cloud backup, the App will:
Create a dedicated folder named "MoreThanScan" in your Google Drive.
Upload scanned PDF documents to this folder (manually or via automatic backup).
Download your backed-up documents for restoration.
Optionally compress documents before upload.
Optionally restrict uploads to Wi-Fi connections only.
Automatic backup, if enabled, runs approximately every 6 hours using Android WorkManager and operates
in the background with a persistent notification.
5.3 Revoking Access
You can disconnect your Google account and revoke Drive access at any time from within the App's settings. You may also revoke access directly at Google Account Permissions.
6. Camera & Image Data
The App requires camera access to perform its core function of document scanning.
6.1 How Camera Data Is Used
Live Preview — Camera frames are processed in real-time for document edge detection and auto-capture. This processing is performed entirely on-device using OpenCV.
Image Capture — When you capture a document, the image is saved locally in JPEG format in the App's private internal storage.
Image Processing — All image operations (perspective correction, cropping, filtering, enhancement) are performed locally on your device. No images are sent to any server unless you explicitly choose to upload them to Google Drive.
6.2 Photo Library Access
The App may request access to your device's photo library to allow importing existing images for scanning.
This access is only used when you explicitly choose to import an image. On Android 13 and above, the App uses
the READ_MEDIA_IMAGES permission; on older versions, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE is used.
7. OCR & Text Recognition
All text recognition is performed entirely on your device. No document text, images, or OCR
results are sent to any external server for processing.
The App uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition, supporting the following scripts:
Latin (English and other Latin-script languages)
Chinese
Japanese
Korean
Devanagari (Hindi, Sanskrit, etc.)
ML Kit models are downloaded to your device on first use. Once downloaded, text recognition works fully offline without any network connection.
Similarly, barcode and QR code scanning using ML Kit is performed entirely on-device.
8. In-App Purchases
The App offers a one-time Pro upgrade purchase through Google Play Billing. When you make a purchase:
The transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.).
We receive a purchase token from Google Play to verify your Pro status.
Your Pro status is stored locally on your device and can be restored via the "Restore Purchases" feature.
9. Data Storage & Security
9.1 Local Storage
Your scanned documents, images, OCR text, and app settings are stored locally on your device in the App's private internal storage directory. This data is not accessible to other apps.
The App uses:
Encrypted Database — Document metadata is stored in an encrypted Room database using Android Security Crypto library (androidx.security:security-crypto).
Private File Storage — Scanned images and exported files are stored in the App's internal file directory (filesDir), which is sandboxed by the Android operating system.
Encrypted Preferences — App settings are stored using Android DataStore with encryption support.
9.2 Document Password Protection
The App allows you to set a password on individual documents. Passwords are securely hashed before storage —
the original password text is never stored.
9.3 Cloud Storage
If you choose to use Google Drive backup, your documents are stored in your own Google Drive account under a
dedicated "MoreThanScan" folder. The security of this data is governed by
Google's Privacy Policy
and your Google account security settings.
9.4 Security Measures
All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Google Sign-In uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol.
Local database is encrypted using Android Keystore-backed encryption keys.
The App supports biometric authentication for additional protection.

Firebase Crashlytics — Crash data is retained for 90 days.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.
Information may be shared with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:
Google Services — As described in this policy, aggregated analytics data, crash reports, and ad interaction data are processed by Google through Firebase and AdMob. Usage of these services is governed by Google's privacy policies.
Google Drive — Only when you explicitly sign in and choose to backup documents. Documents are stored in your own Google Drive account.
User-Initiated Sharing — When you use the App's share feature to send documents via email, messaging apps, or other installed apps on your device, the shared content is transmitted directly to the chosen app. We do not intercept or store this data.
Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
Google API Services User Data Policy: MoreThanScan's use and transfer to any other app of information
received from Google APIs will adhere to the
